How Our Bible-Based Curriculum Helps Kids Grow in Faith

At Bible2School, we don’t just want kids to hear Bible stories—we want them to understand, remember, and live their faith out. That’s why every lesson is intentionally designed to engage multiple learning styles. Whether a child learns best by listening, creating, moving, or discussing, there’s something in each lesson that draws them in.

The Bible2School curriculum was created by an experienced team of educators, staff, volunteers, and pastors. It is intentionally designed to make our Bible2School program dynamic and impactful — and fit within our 45-minute class timeframe.

Each element of the Bible2School curriculum is crafted with a bigger purpose in mind: helping children build a strong foundation of faith for life. By consistently pointing them back to Scripture, helping them understand who God is, clearly presenting the Gospel, and encouraging a personal response, we guide children toward building their own faith foundation.

The Heart Behind Our Curriculum

As kids grow from 2nd through 6th grade, they start to see how God’s story unfolds and where they belong within it. Want to learn more about what each grade is learning? We break it out here.

Overall, our curriculum is designed to accomplish the following six concepts:

  1. Teach Truth – Teach children who God is
  2. Inspire Hope – Teach children the love and hope of Jesus
  3. Empower Learning – Increase children’s familiarity with Bible use
  4. Engage Hearts – Encourage children to accept Jesus as part of their life forever
  5. Engage Minds – Engage the children in applying Biblical lessons to their lives
  6. Engage Actions – Teach children Biblical morals and values

Together, these six concepts help children understand God’s truth, grow in their faith, and begin living out what they learn in Bible2School.

What Makes Bible2School Unique

Bible2School is unique from other programs in the way we engage the children with the Bible. Through intentional relationships between the children and their Small Group Leaders, Bible2School gives children a safe place to ask spiritual questions and process how to apply Biblical truth to their everyday lives.

Each Bible2School lesson includes an open-ended “Think About It” question, which allows the children to explore the ideas presented during the lesson and make connections to their own faith journey. By applying these questions to their lives, children have the amazing opportunity to connect the Bible with their hearts and their minds. For example, kids answer the question “How does God give you second chances?” with the story of Jonah and the whale.

“According to Their Own Kind” Experiment
God has always been consistent in His creation. In fact, the phrase “according to their own kinds” is used 10 times in the first chapter of the Bible. This can be a difficult concept for kids to understand, but we have a hands-on activity that will help them visually understand that living things always come from other living things that are similar to them.
