Listen Up!

Focusing on God’s Voice

It’s such a blessing that we follow a God that speaks to us! In fact, the Bible tells many stories of when God spoke to people to give them instructions and encouragement. God speaks to us in many different ways, like while reading the Bible and through prayer!

But learning to listen to God’s voice can be difficult, especially in this busy culture. Truly listening requires slowing down, being quiet and putting everything else to the side. At the same time, we need to know which voices to filter out so we can listen and obey God’s voice above all! The world is full of things that are fighting for our attention — friends, music, schedules, school, sports, hobbies, etc. But, learning to slow down and focusing on what God is commanding of us is an important lesson we must teach our kids.

This fun activity will help kids grasp the concept of filtering out the noise in culture and focusing on the ONE voice we should listen to — God’s voice! So, grab a few friends or family and play this Listen Up! game.
